EFA Group is an independent asset manager specializing in private debt strategies, with a focus on real economy businesses.

Established in 2003 in Singapore, the Group has since expanded in size and capabilities, and now employs 30 personnel. At EFA Group, we set ourselves apart through our relationship-based approach: our deep understanding and close working ties with our investors and portfolio of borrowers is the cornerstone of our success. By providing solutions and services always based on the needs of small and medium-sized enterprises, we create consistent value and sustainable performance for our investors. We are regulated by the Monetary Authority of Singapore under EuroFin Investments Pte Ltd.

Board of Directors

Francois is Chief Executive Officer and one of three founding partners at EFA Group. He provides leadership for the firm’s strategic plans, as well as creates a vision for its success. He is responsible for charting the overall organizational direction and maintains operational engagement via the firm’s Executive Committee and Investment Committee.

He has over 17 years’ experience in private debt, global trade & commodity finance and asset management. Prior to EFA, he was with Pricewaterhouse Coopers in France. Francois has a Masters in Management from Skema Business School in France and a Master of Business and Administration from the Asian Institute of Technology. He is also a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO).

Philippe was formerly the CEO of ING Retail Banking Asia, ING Private Banking and ING Trust. As Head of Asia, he spearheaded the strategic acquisition of a 20% share in Bank of Beijing and a 30% share in TMB in Bangkok.

Prior to this, he was the CEO of ING UK/Barings. He joined ING in 1999 after 20 years with JP Morgan, where he was last Head of Asset Management and Private Banking in Asia.

Executive Director

In his capacity as Chief Operating Officer, Julien provides leadership across the firm for operational controls, reporting procedures and systems to ensure financial strength and operating efficiency.

Julien has over 12 years of experience in management, corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions in France and across Europe. His earlier career included working as a senior associate at a leading French M&A firm. In 2010, he co-founded a technology start-up specializing in digital interactive marketing where he headed the finance, human resources, legal and sales management teams. Prior to joining EFA, he was a financial and strategic consultant where he provided counsel on business development and financial strategies to corporations in various sectors including investment banking, asset management, pharmaceuticals and industrials.

Julien is also an Executive Director of EFA Group. He holds a Specialized Master in Finance from ESCP Europe, Paris and has a degree majoring in Financial Markets from SKEMA European School of Management.

Clement has over 18 years’ experience in corporate finance, investment banking and wealth management with UBS and Credit Suisse. Before joining EFA, Clement was a Director with UBS in Switzerland where he originated and executed several M&A transactions across sectors and geographies.

He has a BS in Business Administration from the University of Geneva. Clement is also an Executive Director of EFA Group.

Xavier leads the origination team in Asia where he is responsible for deal sourcing, due diligence, investment structuring and portfolio management as well as divestment activities. He has over 10 years of experience in direct investments and business development in the natural resource, commodity, manufacturing, energy and petrochemical industries.

Prior to EFA, Xavier worked with a private equity investor focused on environmental resources in Asia. He also worked in banking for Calyon, and for industrial groups including Air Liquide, Ineo Suez and PGA Motors.

He spent the majority of his life in Asia and graduated with a BS in Management from Boston College’s Carroll School of Management. Xavier is also an Executive Director of EFA Group.

Our Management Team

As Chief Financial Officer, Kwee Peng brings more than 20 years of professional experience within finance, and a proven track record of driving the growth of structured trade finance businesses and strategic client acquisition, in both the commodities and banking industries.

Prior to joining EFA Group, he was with Louis Dreyfus Company as their Regional Chief Financial Officer for Asia since 2016. Previously he was with Archer Daniels Midland Singapore / Toepfer International Asia Pte Ltd for 14 years where he held various key positions such as CFO, Treasurer, Credit Director, Head of Asia – Structured Trade Finance and CEO of ADM Investor Services Singapore. In these roles, Kwee Peng led all aspects of finance, credit, risks and supply chain financing structures, oversee business development and joint-venture activities including the execution of regional business plans.

He has also worked for Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, Rabobank Singapore and ANZ Bank Singapore. He holds two MBAs with specializations in Accountancy and Finance from Nanyang Technological University (Singapore) and Imperial College, London (UK).

Udit Gambhir leads the Fund Management team and is responsible for all facets of fund operations, accounting & valuations as well as regulatory reporting & structuring.

Udit has a very long history within the Alternative assets industry with extensive experience in fund administration, custody & clearing as well as cash & liquidity management. He has successfully led teams driving growth in Asia Pacific for different fund services’ providers like Standard Chartered Bank and most recently IQ-EQ Group. He has a deep understanding of investment management and fund structures across multiple jurisdictions like Singapore, Cayman Islands, Luxembourg and Mauritius.

Udit holds a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) in Finance from FW Olin Graduate School at Babson College as well as a Bachelors of Science in Marketing from Bentley University both in Massachusetts, USA.

Nick leads the trade finance origination team where he is responsible for deal sourcing, due diligence, investment structuring and portfolio management. He is a commodity finance specialist with an extensive background in physical commodity trading and operations. His experience includes vanilla commodity trade finance, commodity trade finance arbitrage, and short to medium term structured limited recourse and/or ring-fenced commodity trade finance.

Nick used to hold senior positions in STCF with Andre, several entities under the Noble Group and before joining EFA was CFO of Avra Commodities.

Kashama is Head of the Group’s Investment Solutions strategy, responsible for deal origination, structuring and portfolio management.

He has over 15 years of experience in banking and Financial services. Most recently, he worked with leading local banks in Africa, focusing primarily on developing Corporate and SME banking units as well as leading Strategy and Controlling teams. Prior to that, he was a director at UBS, working 10 years in business strategy, wealth management and corporate finance.

Kashama holds a MA in Business Management from the University of Strasbourg in France.

John has oversight of EFA’s legal and regulatory matters across origination, portfolio management, fund distribution and other corporate matters.

Prior to joining EFA, he was a legal/regulatory management consultant to a Myanmar-based airline group and BIBD Bhd, a subsidiary to the Government of Brunei as General Counsel – Head of Legal & Compliance.

John has over 24 years of experience as a legal professional, most of which is in the financial industry with organisations such as Nomura International, Moor Park Capital Partners, Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank and Cantor Fitzgerald/BGC and GFI Group.

Fei Chun is the Head of Special Situations and is responsible for overseeing restructuring and recovery of portfolio assets and non-performing loans management.

Prior to joining EFA Group, he was an Investment Controller with a listed company on ASX, where he focused on the group overseas joint venture investments and risk management, and a Director with KPMG Deal Advisory for thirteen years, where he focused on restructuring, distressed assets and insolvency management as well as debt advisory. He has extensive experience dealing with cross-border transactions in diverse sectors across Southeast Asia and China.

Fei Chun holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Tasmania in finance and accounting. He is a Chartered Accountant and a member of the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants, a fellow member of CPA Australia and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.

Ying Xuan heads the investor services team and leads the client servicing and engagement efforts. Her team is responsible for providing up-to-date information on the Group’s funds and managing communication with investors.

Prior to this, she was overseeing marketing and investor relations for an independent alternative asset management based in Singapore. She has over 6 years of experience in client relations in the banking and asset management sector.

Ying Xuan holds a BA of Commerce majoring in accounting and finance from The University of Sydney.

Siti is responsible for managing all communications and public relations aspects for the Group and investment vehicles. This which includes strategic marketing planning, implementation of public relations activities and control of the marketing budget.

She has over ten years of experience in marketing and communications, spanning manufacturing, retail and hospitality industries.

Siti holds a BA in Communications from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology.
